This (jewel) orchid does not like light very much. The Macodes petola is found in Southeast Asia in lower areas, where they grow on shady soil in warm and humid conditions. She has short roots and grows mainly horizontally, so she likes pots that are not too deep.
They are often placed in a terrarium or vivarium. The reason for this is that the plant grows well at very high humidity.
She can also do fine in a living room, as long as you ensure a higher humidity than normal. You achieve this by misting the leaves daily with a plant sprayer.
The plant in the picture is an example photo. The final delivered plant may differ slightly.
